People of Seer: Meet Allison Worms

Welcome to People of Seer: Philly Edition!

In this series, you’ll get to meet our team and learn about what makes them the best around (in our humble opinion).

Meet Allison Worms

Associate Project Manager | Musical Theater Aficiando and Runner

Where are you coming from? Tell us a bit about your journey before Seer?

Before Seer, I was working at non-profit that is the largest provider of financial assistance to kids with cancer in the US. My role was to support all of their college fundraising efforts across the country and support their student leaders.

It was actually a hard decision going from a non-profit to a for-profit company because I didn't want to work at a company that was just making money to be profitable and growing their company for growth sake.

"That's why I felt like Seer was a really great match. I get to do my job every day so that this for-profit company can have a larger social impact, and that's exciting to me."

How would you describe what you do for your job? What's a day-in-the-life look like?

As a Project Manager at Seer, every day looks a bit different (which I LOVE)! I spend my time working with dozens of Seer employees over 2 client accounts ensuring we are within budget, managing timelines and keeping general team goals on track.

The best part of being a Project Manager is the amount of people I get to interface with day-to-day with the overall goal of making their projects as seamless as possible!

Favorite quote or piece of advice?

"Worrying is like walking around with an umbrella waiting for it to rain"  I think about this quote often as it helps me put into perspective what is worth my thoughts and what things I should try to let go of.  That being said, it's much easier said than done!

What is your favorite part of your Seer career that isn't part of your job description?

I'm actually organizing a Project Management team trip to the Gift of Life house here in Philly. Seer's going to donate the ingredients and we're going to cook a meal there. I'm excited and hoping that we can do that every couple of months!

"The best part of this job outside of my day-to-day responsibilities, is the unlimited volunteer hours Seer allows us to take."

What are some of your favorite things to do outside of work?

Outside of work I have been spending a lot of time going on runs through Philly.  I am training for my first ever 8k race with my dad, who has dozens of marathons under his belt!  Looking forward to this hopefully being the first of many races to come!

My family and I also love seeing musicals together - especially the women in my family although we drag along my Dad and he enjoys it too!

Growing up in New Jersey, we would go into the city and see a show. It was always a really nice thing to do with my family, so I associate it with good family time. I'm going to see Hamilton in Philly and then Jagged Little Pill - they'll be my first shows since before the pandemic!

What's a fun-fact or skill you have that we might be surprised about?

Well my secret talent is that I'm really fast at doing puzzles. Put a thousand piece puzzle in front of me and it's game-time!

As for fun-fact, I spent 10 years of my life at sleep-away camp every summer. That's a big part of my childhood since I was a camper for seven years and then a staff member.

It made such a huge impact on me, taking me out of my comfort zone and helping me grow. It also showed me, especially as a staff member, just how smart kids are!
